Get it On .. the new season is only a few short hours away and i have to admit i am more than a tad excited about it.
We have a good strong squad that try and play football , all is set for another challenge on getting out of this bloody league!
Throughout the season i will try and get my thoughts,musings and moans out as soon as possible after a game but as i well know my vices teamed with little will power mean that i am easily led and distracted.
The train is taking the strain for the first game so it should be a good jolly even if we are little short on numbers !! ... "Where are you lads","lets be havin you" (in my finest Delia voice)
Time to go get the jobs done ready for the morning and then dream of that title being in Mark Warren's hands come May

Wizzbeck
At the end of the season the point gained from last night may prove valuable for both sides , more so for Wizzbeck I would guess . In a very disjointed, scrappy affair the Reserves had the overall better of the game but in the second half especially created very little.Matty Gilchrist who is normally rock solid had an absolute mare of a game and gifted Wizz a lead which was soon cancelled out in a goalmouth scramble by Jack D.Apart from a good header by Jack and several long range hits that was about it for first half action. The referee who is supposed to be regional conference level was piss poor. He let both sides kick and elbow each other to bits but raised the yellow card every time anyone had the audacity to moan about it. The second half saw Jack D go off injured (a thigh strain) and the appearance of Webb by the dugout to find out more about the injury.The lad Nicholls looked promising in the second half as did Vincent but overall it was a disappointing display by many of the side.The new centre forward Boden is being raved about but the word is "Raw".
An attendence of 303 will please the very cash strapped Wizzbeck

Maggies Town
Well, I never made the journey to Maggie's town for three reasons. I don't like grounds that have running pitches around them to start with,secondly I was going to see the real shrek on the tv the next day and didn't wish to see a copy in the Gingerbread's bar and thirdly I have seen enough pre-season matches to see where we are on the playing level.It appears my decision was right with the first half being productive and the second one that you stay in the bar for.
Are we ready? Yes I think so and if we come away with 12 points from the first seven games I would be reasonably pleased.
I notice the talks for the wonder player failed, no worries really we are just about strong enough and if Webb ever mentions Jack's name without the words Un-Fit in the same sentence we would be even stronger.
I see the rumour that Stamford want Matt"two cars"O'Halloran, I can't say that losing him would be too much of a loss and would free up money for the future too.He has given me the impression that he really doesn't care too much for Webb and the way he wants to play the game, if that is the case then lets say thanks for some great performances and goals then goodbye.
Well done the reserves on saturday , a great win at IW in another important season.I will be making the short journey to Wizzbeck tomorrow to have a look and give my support,local derbies have always been special to me.I hear that Wizzbeck are edging ever closer to getting a new ground, lets hope so though i will miss the never completed stand.

Heroin Chic at Stamford
The game started with a minutes silence with no announcement, luckily most people grasped the idea! Bless the lady it was in rememberance of and we all put into the collection bucket sometime during the game.
No centre halves meant a defensive line up that made group of Ompa lumpas look tall , but they coped with all until the trialist keeper from either Ex- Grimsby or Man Utd decided to dive a minute after the shot from the edge of the box had passed him by. Goodbye that trialist.The usual Daniels and KLFC game continued for a while kicking lumps out of each other until just before half time when a great move saw Frew , who played in a wide attacking midfield put over a delightful cross for JOE Francis (not JOEY) to slot in.
Standing on a new strip of concrete in the second half with a lovely shiny new fence behind us ( the asbestos roof still remains on the stand on the far side though) we watched a quite impressive second half display. Turner/frew ? I though it was Turner scored after good play between Chapman, Nolan and Francis , then a couple of minutes Turner unleashed an absolute rocket from 25 yards. the third was a penalty put away by Turner with complete confidence. So it may of been a Turner Hat-trick?
Burrows played for the Daniels with Jonah not even on the bench but in the bar. Burrows looked like a wreck , no false tan and with a real Heroin Chic look, his play was ok but he went off after 65 mins-ish, Perhaps he needed his fix?
Stamford put on a dwarf second half from the management side to our amusement, Heigh Ho!! Heigh Ho!!
Lots of hippie positive vibes from last night and i noticed Doris doesn't serve her tea in a real mug anymore , maybe Burrows kept selling them on to pay for his habit.
