A simple journey with the A17 taking forever as usual, your gotta love the tractors. I have done the journey over Woodhead countless times on my way to the now soulless Prawn Sandwich Stadium but the views never cease to amaze me.
I missed the turning to Stalybridge, how i have no idea as the sign is huge but due to the lady reduced to tears by her need for a squat it was not a cause for concern as we reassessed our position using the £1.99 AA sat nav during her moment of relief and returned to the scene of the error post haste.
Good stewarding saw us park in a neat line of descending coaches and right next to the pub.Ironic thanks to the dickhead on the club bus who said there were no minibuses coming,Jealousy is a sad trait.
After a couple of quality pints of London Pride in Manchester? & it tasted better as well,it was time to get the team news.
& What has he done again only put Jack as the lone striker and filled the bench with JJ,DB,JT,AS this along with Murray would probably be the strongest 5 a side team in the league(thanks to SG for that quote)
I had various discussions about this line up all afternoon and I still don't understand why he has set the stall up this way.As a side we play a lot of counter attacking football using the pace and skills of Frew and Francis,so what is the point of having a hold up player on his own up front who with the greatest respect has no chance of making gut busting runs into the penalty area.Having Jack as the only forward also condemns the full backs to making hoof balls that have no chance of making the forward as Jack is not going to make the give me the ball runs.
I am as baffled after a nights sleep as I was yesterday.
Just why are we paying teams so much respect when we have proven goalscorers in the side.
I was greeted with a its going to take Eight weeks to get used to the league, well to me football is football and yes the pace is quicker and the players are stronger but it is still football and the players we have are more than capable if set up,to go and play the game. Let them express themselves and not baffle them with complex tactics.
The Game itself
We held our own for the first twenty minutes but found it hard to create anything. The Celtic then got into the game and scored a great goal from lovely football,Ben Sedgemore had missed a simple header before this. The Celtic then took control of the game and the sending off seemed to make no difference at all.
Was it a sending off ?Arms were up,Bridgewater has now got an Oscar Nomination due to arrive Tuesday morning & the guy is sent off.I have no idea.
It made no iota of a difference to Celtic who second half came out to put the game out of sight and they would of if wasn't for the Magnificent Howie who made at least eight top drawer saves and the Man mountain that is Mark Peters.
Despite getting totally overran by 10 men. What and how? we did create chances and Jack should of scored when he decided to go walkabout with the ball instead of pulling the trigger and Joe Francis rattled the post with a great shot.
The goal was well created with Jack scoring a good header from a quality cross.
It may amaze people(and the manger) but the balance with DB on with Jack or JT looked right and with a midfield (they had departed by now),we may of actually kept hold of the ball for more that 10 seconds instead of giving it back to Celtic to attack again.
The conclusion is the manger has no idea of what side to play from his squad still (where was Glover?) and despite getting a a lucky undeserved draw the problems he is creating need to sorted out. Not one player had a bad game but they were limited in how to play by the formation and team the manager picked.
What is the deal with our "greatest ever signing" being kept on the bench.
Give Joachim a fucking chance to do his stuff.

Jury Out
Adam Smith in and Steve Melton out seems fine to me . We have not solved the obvious problem areas on the pitch but have bought in a player who has shown his quality during the first period of employment by the club.Best just forget the second period and to be honest i have already slated him enough for that.At least the problem has been noted that we need better players all over the pitch .
Now just where is that Ska/reggae compilation for todays road trip.

The Reserves Vs Histon Res
My first viewing of the reserves this season was a real mixed bag.
The first good news was that a couple of bottles of Newcastle Brown were rescued from the VIP lounge making me much happier than at half time on Monday.
The Game
The only first team player involved was Murray in goal which surprised me a bit as i half expected to see John Turner involved to get some match fitness.
We had 3 great chances in the first 5 minutes to score but flunked each one with an F.
Histon who had a few first team squad players involved then took control of the game and scored from the penalty spot after Murray had stroked a Histon players legs so delicately that it could hardly of even tickled him. More soft refereeing !
Then they made it two after Robbie Palmer failed to close down a player on the corner of the 6 yard box. This was after 30 minutes and the heads of the players with the exception of Lee Hyde had gone down already.Sad!
Histon had countless chances to extend the lead but failed somehow.
After a talking too! Really ? The team came out for the second half had just started playing and then the manager Steve Lilley made a triple substitution?? Why not just do it at half time and why a triple. To me that is a hell of a risk with 40 minutes plus football left to play. Odd! Low and behold two minutes later Lee Hyde goes down with a hamstring problem/dead leg ..Just as well it was him for any other player would of meant we were down to ten men.
Somehow the game now became more evenly matched and we dragged our way back in to the game with a pinball goal put in by Liam Forshaw(nothing against the lad but how is his resigning productive for the club & with all due respect he won't be pushing for a first team place)
Then just as it looked like the game was going to be lost up pops Captain Marvel Hyde with a bit of Pele skill and scores the equaliser.
Overall the boy Dwyer looks good,Why play Vincent in a defensive midfield role? Palmer and Forshaw Why?
The manager ..ummm.....
Relegation? I would not be surprised at all
Good game though.

Hinckley at Home
A Superb crowd that the Leicestershire inbreds could only dream of were treated to the poorest overall display by Kings Lynn this season in which they still showed glimpses of excellence. The Game contained some lovely flowing football with Francis involved in most of it,more inept personal defending for the goal that we conceded and then long ball "hoof" crap when the ideas ran out 25 minutes from the end.The last part of that is unacceptable and when a crowd gives the second largest cheer (all be it ironic) of the afternoon for a pass out along the ground surely the management must realise this."Keep Passing the ball" says Uncle Keith in the programme, if that is that you want then get players that will do this or the crowds will soon go down to Hinckley level.
Yesterday was another two points dropped against a very average opposition because we could not finish off chances. It was fair enough to start with DB and Jack but if you must bring JJ on then at least give him the ball.Francis our best first half player was also starved of the ball second half.
The midfield yesterday was poor.Where was Sedgemore? Given the day off to do a radio show?On yesterday's display Bridgewater is not up to controlling the midfield on his own, simple as.
The right back position ... umm much has been said on this topic but most of it is coming home to roost. Charlie D is not good enough at the minute, he does his best and a lot can be said for that but we need better.I am sure that he is left footed as well.
Will John Turner be back on Saturday after his ill timed Wedding and honeymoon. You play football for a living and as such should of got married in the summer, many clubs would of sacked you for not doing this. So You Owe Us Big Time
It is not all doom and gloom though and despite drawing again in a league that seems very even from all of the general results we deserved at least the draw and all for a bit of luck that doesn't seem to be going our way we could of again snatched the game with the last kick of the game.
It will all come good,I am sure but midtable at best is the achievable goal at the current level of football.
Onto Manchester we roll.

How to Massage a sore neck
If you have a sore neck then try this simple little massage to relieve the pain of that sore neck; ideal for those who do lots of travelling and watch Kings Lynn FC and therefore find it hard to get their neck consistently into a comfortable position.
All that you do is breathe in a little and bend the head back slightly.
Then squeeze your shoulders at the base of the neck, and hold the muscles firmly with the fingers and also the palms.
Hold, then breathe out, and roll head gently forwards, squeezing still.
Finally hold this for a few seconds before returning head to normal position. Repeat this a few times for a great massage for a sore neck that can work wonders!
