The glasto coverage on the beeb was pretty good last night although predictable.I swapped between all 3 channels and thought that Lupe Fiasco was superb with massive crowd while the main stage crowd looked poor.The Jazz stage did look the place to be although Jimmy Cliff was a good sleep inducer.It was nice of Edith to congratulate her partner on a superb performance! Really?... The Ting Tings are they really that great,a couple of good songs from an average lp that is quite diverse (tv only places the same songs)I hear that Franz played a secret gig up in the park.Will the beeb show any of this? The radio is saying that they are based up in the park area, so lets hope so.
The Mandela concert, Umm...Great sentiment shouted out by hollow souls that will forget all about it this morning.I hate this gold ring that they put at the front of these park gigs for the nouvelle rich,so called celebrities and record company children.The ring was half full for most of the night,with the real fans 200m from the stage.Mind you that was probably a treat when the sugarbabes warbled on.
As for Mandela, he looked his age and appeared to not have a clue about what was going on.The man is a Legend though but just let him retire in dignity and simply have a birthday in his own home.
