Runaround No more

So Iraq finally have something to celebrate. A united Iraqi team has won the Asian Cup giving the population who are now stuck in a civil war and abject poverty due to the illegal war a glimmer of a smile in a ever worsening situation.
& on a sour note the comic Mike Read has passed on to the comedy club upstairs. I saw him live and he was very funny but the fondest memories must be his
children's TV stint presenting "Runaround" ... "Runaround Nowwwww!!! "

Plantation Park Outing

A useful work out on a warmish day against sub standard opposition.
The final score was not that important but for the statto's it finished 4-0 with goals from Turner (2) Frew and Nolan.
Again its just a friendly so I will only bullet point a few bits about the game
We started with the back 4 that will start the season and they looked rock solid but with a side that was only throwing paper towels at you it was not that difficult.
Very good use of the channels in the game JT looked impressive again as did Francis and Frew!!
Camm was assured and used the broom well.Matty OH has the jury out as he did at the end of last season.Nolan and DB came on in the second half both did ok.
A couple of trialists were on display, Ridgeway and Lake and to be honest neither impressed or added anything extra to the squad we already have.
Melton and Jack were missing, Jack off with the Res at Ely and Melton he is a Leg-end so the note from his mum about Brighton was accepted.
All in all a good training session with 2 good goals from JT, a memorable Fluke cross goal from Frew and a bullet from Nolan.
An added bonus was the appearance of Shaun Carey who looked to be running freely and although he didn't have that much to do he did it well.He recieved a nice ovation onto the pitch from players & fans as well.Perhaps he is the reason we have not chased too hard for another midfielder.
Finally Its a nice little ground, but as its the Norfolk FA's headquarters you would expect so. One criticism is that the bar is upstairs which is a really pain in a wheelchair.

A bit of Loveliness to start a weekend with

And on a sad note football loses David Preece

Movies and Music

Just a brief round up of recent lps listened to and movies seen.
The
lps are all quite mellow in this group, must be an indication of my current state of mind
The Amy Macdonald
lp as mentioned few days ago is ok , nothing to get over excited about on its first listen but it will probably be a grower.
The new Josh Rouse "Country Mouse,City House"
lp is great as usual , Josh Rouse is a well kept secret and that's just the way i like it.It's great 70'S tinged country-folk for those that do not know of him and he rarely fails to deliver great lps.Check out his "nashville" lp as a start point.
I have also caught up with Catherine Feeny and her new lp Hurricane Glass". It is well worth seeking out. She is a great singer songwriter, guaranteed songs on all of those US Living TV sitcoms.
Movie wise,The new Harry potter movie is excellent , very dark in places and really aimed at children over the age of 10 ( many under this age will just not get it) and it does miss out large chunks of the book which means that it does seem a little disjointed but it is still the best HP so far.
The Transformers movie is very good too and YES that did hurt me to write. I had low expectations of the film but these were soon totally exceeded with lots of great comedy and action sequences that were breathtaking. This type of film is normally well off of my radar but it worked on every level.
Shrek the Third is just plain average , it's a film to rent at most and a car boot copy is probably a better bet. There should be a few passable copies about now.

A Funny Story

Not sure if this is true as it's a mate of a mate story, plus it may not have been the lady's worst sex ever but I'd wager it's competitive.
A mate told me about a mate of his shagging some lady he'd picked up on a night out. Apparently both were partly clothed and he was shagging her from behind in the time honoured doggy style when the following incident occurred.
In the throes of passion, the lady says to him, "I want to see your face".
So, does he do the gentlemanly thing and relocate her into a suitable position her so that her wish may be granted?
No, no he doesn't.Instead he carries on humping away and without missing a thrust, reaches down into the back pocket of his jeans and produces for her....
...his bus pass.

The Broads

Well made it to the broads and back via a few small village/towns on the way.
I quite liked North
Walsham full of mainly independent traders and just seemed like a nice place , there was a dodgy bit of seventies attempted but failed small shopping precinct with the local clone dressed kids ( i much prefer Kings Lynn goths- much more effort and style) but a pleasant town.
Wroxham is simply overrated, Roy's is just a title over the door with much of the space concession ed out , A good piece of branding but dull dull dull. The fish and chips though were very good, not up to Tewksbury level and defiantly no where near Dorchester but still very good.
The game was OK.The northern lads were given the night off and we started with several of what would be termed reserves but apart from a few early lapses everyone played well and no-one looked out of their depth against a more than competent
Wroxham side.I love the fact we have 4/5 forwards that all play the game very differently but still have the ability to link up. Frew played more in an attacking midfield role tonight to good effect, Fisk looked good , Francis is great going forward but doesn't seem to relish the defensive aspect. A good work out and Howie was in goal as well.

New Great Talent

Amy Macdonald- Poison Prince
A great track from a breaking artist , I got the lp yesterday and its going to get a listen on the way to Wroxham today... I will give my thoughts on it tomorrow.

Tewksbury Chippie

Three friendlies in and I have already missed two , a poor show by my standards but ho hum .. Sometimes very very occasionally other things take priority, at least i can't blame flooding. The images of this are beyond words. Many of us are quite familiar with the main area affected and my main concern is has the Tewksbury chippie has been flooded !! Only kidding i have been accused on far too many occasions of being a heartless bastard but i do actually feel for most of the people effected by this rage of God. Unless we start looking after this big old world of ours , we can expect much of the same devastation in a large variety of methods.
what is going on with the goalkeeper situation ? Is Howie following Crichton to Brighton? Is the pink light glowing far to strongly? We cannot enter the season with this lad Hilton in goal unless he transforms into something very different in the next few friendlies. I care not about losing , even heavily in pre season games as they count for nothing but they are there to learn about your players so lets hope Webb&Glover are doing so . We need a quality keeper signed now so his defenders get to know how he plays. JUST DO IT !
I should make it NO ambition Wroxham tomorrow with the family in tow , bloody school holidays .. family things to do and all that .. shopping in Roys! I just can't wait!

A word of Caution

As you are receiving e-mail, it's wise to remember how easily this wonderful technology can be misused, sometimes unintentionally and with serious consequences.

Consider the case of the Illinois man who left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick e-mail.

Unable to find the scrap of paper on which he had written her e-mail address, he did his best to type it in from memory. Unfortunately, he missed one letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher's wife, whose husband had passed away only the day before. When the grieving widow checked her e-mail, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint. Hearing the scream, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:

"Dearest Wife,

Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.

P.S. Sure is hot down here!"

We never Learn

A great attendance for the Narwich friendly last night , i will admit i was not one of them, no boycott or anything like that just a case of the regular sample of hospital food taking place on the same evening. It appears that someone forgot to print a programme i am told and also that an opportunity to earn several English pounds was missed by not selling soft drinks and snacks by the club. When will the club ever seize their opportunity's.We had that superb cup run last season with 5000 punters in the ground and after it all the club did was celebrate the event instead of pushing things onwards and retaining some of those punters.Last night all of those canaries that can't muster more than a wimper of a song were there to look after and maybe get back for another game in the season and we provided no programme and sub standard catering if anyone got actually got served.Piss Poor! to sum it up.
They tell me Hucklebug was a total up his arse prima donna, just as he appears in the EDP when slagging off the hand that feeds.Tell me love how was your premiership career?
What are we doing with Dean West? He leaves us for one of the teams that we all hate and then returns 2 days later because the grass is overgrown because the Bostscum haven't got any money to buy petrol to put in the lawnmower. Bullshit we should of said NO, took him back on lower terms( if we haven't) or at the very least let him sweat for a couple of weeks.
So at last someone in the southern league got the biro to work and sorted the fixtures out. Bashley away first, a camping weekend trip there me thinks , followed by the visit to Mini scotland. lovely openers and some other highlights in the fixtures as well upon first reflection

No more TT pilfering for 28 days

The no contact manager that is TT has come on the rob and stolen a player that will do all of his coaching for him just as he did during his stay at our club.
I make no apologies for not caring that West has left the club , at times last season he showed that age is not being kind to him and despite all of his experience if we want to get out of the southern league we needed a better full back or at least someone that can slot in there.
I also don't blame West for leaving (it makes sense for many personal reasons) , and the fact that we didn't even wait for the 7 days to expire from the initial approach shows how much Webb is actually bothered at losing the player. The 7 day approach now means that TT can not approach another KL player for 28 days or is he following the old Boston rule book?
Thinking about it if TT has been talking to several KL players that have all signed southern league forms, surely that is several illegal approaches and rules being broken? Same old Bostscum always cheating
Give CD a chance at full back.
On the other player loss. Good luck to Crichton,if a league club comes knocking then the chance has to be (re)taken.
I see the over rated piece of junk that is Charley's cousin in BB8 has moved for several million £'s. Keano you have been Mugged!

Forget the bills and go watch KLFC away

Finally i have found time for a written post.So Mildenhall and the first of what seems like many many friendlies. A good opening game against a fairly well organised and workman like side that for the first 20 Min's held the upper hand until we shook out the match day cobwebs.
Jack and Crane both had knocks/strains so although there, they did not participate. During the game MHP and Fell both picked up minor injury's , these young players Eh! The new players were the pick of the bunch, Francis and Turner looked good prospects . Chapman looks like he will do exactly what it says on the tin. I could over analyse the game but it is after all only a first friendly and it doesn't merit this.
The reliable grapevine is such that we are talks with an attacking midfielders agent, which could be our missing link , though Cammy was taking on this role with his standard shooting boots on Saturday.I have to compliment Mildenhall on the tidy club that they have and sensible bar prices as well but not giving concessions of any kind for a wheelchair supporter who could not get to the game without help let them down big time. They would of got the money via programme's, raffle tickets or food sales anyhow, I'm not impressed.
Away until September 9th in the league, good common financial sense for the club in the long term and thanks to the lovely southern league officials for letting us do this. They do have a few bridges to mend though after the northern league fiasco!
I have to admit as an away follower it's going to be a not pay any household bills for a few weeks especially when the fixtures shove us over to the south west at least 3 times!
Corby away on august bank holiday will do me fine though.

Well the the clubhouse looked pretty knackered in the EDP pics, lets hope Carters shove their hand up and admit the lack of roof and get it sorted,as for loss of business i hear its up to our insurers to start with anyhow at least..pressure..pressure..pressure.. it's our flood isn't it . Government help? Are we Properly insured?
Mildenhall tomorrow ... Yes get in there football of some description!
Danny Gay is a fantastic goalkeeper and deserves league football, it's as simple as that. Only 23,I hope
Leeds pick him up and he goes on to much bigger things.
Tommy No Loyalty Taylor goes to
Bostcum .. what polite words can i use to sum up my feelings? I have none, its like someone going from the Arse to the Yid's or from Manc Utd to the Scouse , it's unforgivable. If he then wants to raid us for players he's an absolute ...T

Cover versions are normally pretty awful but this old 80's take hits the button full on.

Well the world turns

And the excuses for failure have already appeared .In the face of adversity just after stating that whatever it costs we will pay , the flag of poverty is raised.Yes it is hard but as a business i would hope we have loss of business insurance.Simply the board are the hard the hard nosed business men that we love and respect , sort it out , no bullshit and pussyfooting about. Sort the fucker out and then get the legal side to look for compensation if the insurers/council/contractors take too long .
So its alcohol free for the Narwich friendly , Why? Get on the case and find a way to get plastics and an outside bar sorted .We have enough stewards to cover all of the Southern League at the same time most weeks. so no problem there! Is Time the excuse ? Bollocks! it should of been sorted just after the fire hose fired itself.
At least on the pitch is getting sorted.
So Leeds Utd has been resold back to the the conman cunt that is Ken Bates. For fucks sake who would want to be a fan of any club put in this situation. First Ridsdale then Bates, guess it will a cartoon character next. How about Homer Simpson? I'd guess not even he has a few morals!
So is the mixed doubles champ ,the boy Murray seeing his partner? What the fuck has this to do with us! He's a Wimbledon Champion! That's good enough for me. Well done Lad.
So how were my travels? I thought you would never ask.
One puncture , far too much takeaway , not enough beer ,but a very good time.

Sunday was Stonehenge and then Salisbury town. I have been to the football ground more than half a dozen times but never done the town centre apart from the old ground if that counts.Great town, not overly cloned, real buildings and yes i do like to look up !A Superb Cathedral , What an amazing building. I loved the place and will revisit when i have more time.
Stonehenge is an Amazing place but an overcast Sunday with more language's being spoken than daytime King's Lynn town centre does not do it justice. It needs sunrise or sunset. My personal view to anyone that has not seen it is as i have in the past on several occasions is to pass it at these times and stop and walk down and view it via the fences. Cheers to the guy that gave us a freebie and saved us 20 notes though .

Quick Comment

The Live Earth concert was 100% better than the dead princess concert and much better produced but why keep cutting out the third song by all the groups to show the other concerts. Do that during the break between bands. They cut out Spinal Taps third song and you probably heard me screaming obscenities about this from your own houses. Morons!
The Go! team were amazing , simple as that.
Well done the smiley Murray brother on reaching the mixed doubles final. Great tennis today as well.

Saturday Joke

One day Bill complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go to a computer at the chemist's that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor.

"Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs £10." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the pharmacy. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the £10. The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed:"You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks."

Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction. He went back to the chemist's, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the £10. The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:

"Your tap water is too hard.Get a water softener.Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins.Your daughter is using cocaine.Put her in a rehabilitation clinic.Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren't yours.Get a lawyer. And if you don't stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better."

bit of dull un today

Not much on the radar today.
So Chris (i could a have an argument in an empty house) Sutton has announced his retirement . I always had a grudging respect for him as a player and he must of been a real nightmare to defend against, always niggling just a real pain in the arse. Although i never forgave him for the england B team tantrum.
Time to get on the phone Webb and see if he wants a few games. The eye can't be that bad if he is playing cricket!
I see the Pikey Eastwood is moving to the midlands. I wonder if wolves are ready for the furore that will be caused when the relatives move with him and set up camp just off the M6. I wonder if his contract gives him a road to exercise his horse and trap!
Get over it Sheffield Utd and concentrate on getting promotion. Its all just a waste of money and time. Whatever the ins and outs of the Tevez affair it was just about legal and no decision will be overturned.
Tevez to the mancs ... why? He is not needed!
Finally RIP George Melly , a true eccentric Englishman. I had the pleasure of seeing him 3 times and although his style of music is not really my favourite type if i have one. I enjoyed his performance immensely each time. Enjoy your time singing, painting and fishing up there. If you made it up there!

A big mix of a day

The day starts with a bitter Aussie slagging off our new god Lewis Hamilton, well Mark if you were as good as Lewis then perhaps you would of been picked up by Ron Dennis as a teenager to drive for his team.Get over it,the new kid on the block is beating last years world champion hands down at the minute so he can't be too bad!
Leeds Utd !!! Ha ha ha ha , it couldn't happen to a nicer club or lovely chairman ( you decide were the sarcasm starts) bye bye bye bye bye .... I'm waving are you looking!
Bostscum have been rescued , they are still in an absolute mess but will still exist in some form. Am i supposed to be happy for them , i guess so as a general football fan but i just can't bring myself to register an iota of it.Lets see us pass them as they tumble out of the BSN and we finally get ourselves into it. They have such a high level of debt they will be lucky to afford even Sunday league wages and i see Talbot is still there on a contract of £1700 a week. That should be an interesting renegotiation!
In other news as they say Alan Johnston is free! Great news , what's the betting he's an adrenalin junkie and wants to get straight back in the conflict area and start reporting again. Well after he has signed a book deal for several million (not too cynical am i?) anyhow.
And my luck seems to be sort off in with a couple of free tickets to see the Go! Team in London on Friday night and tickets to the new BBC non-league radio show in august at Enfield arriving in my inbox this afternoon. And yes i did do the lottery!
Happy Independence day to all the US citizens, gotta admit it means nothing to me but any reason to hit the beer is always good in my pocketbook.

All signed up

Excellent stuff that the squad is all bar two signed up. Now it starts to get serious and Pre-season is training that's all. No points are won or lost in this period and only positives can be gleamed from these games in terms of shape, type of play and fitness. It also gives the management hopefully a chance to see who may not be good enough, initially at least. Good news on the Carey front as well but I'd guess we will see if he has recovered when or if the tackles start going in.
If you missed the football factories series that is still running , i recommend it this week . Poland was the country and they have some
serious England 1980's problems going on with their supporters but with weapons included just for fun!
On a different note i caught up with a film called Blood Diamond tonight , Top notch entertainment with very serious real life scary undertones. Rent it out you will not regret it (well only DiCaprio's very dodgy "Brown Bread" accent)

Tuesday dinner time joke

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was
really pissed.
She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"
The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.
Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house.
She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

Away days Beckon

What is it with us and cup ties , we seem to always be away especially in the Trophy. At least both ties are for us Kings Lynn supporters only a short journey away. Both of the ties are very winnable but quite tough at the same time. They should both be a couple of good days out with plenty of support. The last time I went to Lincoln Utd we won a bottle of wine in the raffle and I seem to remember the clubhouse is more like a cricket pavilion and also thinking on my stomach like all good warriors do! They had home made burgers!
The last visit to Sudbury was pretty mad stuff , lots of supporters in high spirits to put it gently.
Nothing like a cup day out.
I suffered the rest of the dead princess concert , I presume the TV director was hung in the tower today. It was fucking awful coverage , full of toe curling silences and mistakes. What an overall very odd concert, totally up its own arse , pompus and the best bit was the bloody ballet!
