A simple journey with the A17 taking forever as usual, your gotta love the tractors. I have done the journey over Woodhead countless times on my way to the now soulless Prawn Sandwich Stadium but the views never cease to amaze me.
I missed the turning to
Stalybridge, how i have no idea as the sign is huge but due to the lady reduced to tears by her need for a squat it was not a cause for concern as we reassessed our position using the £1.99 AA sat nav during her moment of relief and returned to the scene of the error post haste.
Good stewarding saw us park in a neat line of descending coaches and right next to the pub.Ironic thanks to the dickhead on the club bus who said there were no minibuses coming,Jealousy is a sad trait.
After a couple of quality pints of London Pride in Manchester? & it tasted better as well,it was time to get the team news.
& What has he done again only put Jack as the lone striker and filled the bench with JJ,DB,JT,AS this along with Murray would probably be the strongest 5 a side team in the league(thanks to SG for that quote)
I had various discussions about this line up all afternoon and I still don't understand why he has set the stall up this way.As a side we play a lot of counter attacking football using the pace and skills of
Frew and Francis,so what is the point of having a hold up player on his own up front who with the greatest respect has no chance of making gut busting runs into the penalty area.Having Jack as the only forward also condemns the full backs to making hoof balls that have no chance of making the forward as Jack is not going to make the give me the ball runs.
I am as baffled after a nights sleep as I was yesterday.
Just why are we paying teams so much respect when we have proven goalscorers in the side.
I was greeted with a its going to take Eight weeks to get used to the league, well to me football is football and yes the pace is quicker and the players are stronger but it is still football and the players we have are more than capable if set up,to go and play the game. Let them express themselves and not baffle them with complex tactics.

The Game itself
We held our own for the first twenty minutes but found it hard to create anything. The Celtic then got into the game and scored a great goal from lovely football,Ben Sedgemore had missed a simple header before this. The Celtic then took control of the game and the sending off seemed to make no difference at all.
Was it a sending off ?Arms were up,
Bridgewater has now got an Oscar Nomination due to arrive Tuesday morning & the guy is sent off.I have no idea.
It made no iota of a difference to Celtic who second half came out to put the game out of sight and they would of if wasn't for the Magnificent Howie who made at least eight top drawer saves and the Man mountain that is Mark Peters.
Despite getting totally overran by 10 men. What and how? we did create chances and Jack should of scored when he decided to go walkabout with the ball instead of pulling the trigger and Joe Francis rattled the post with a great shot.
The goal was well created with Jack scoring a good header from a quality cross.
It may amaze people(and the manger) but the balance with DB on with Jack or
JT looked right and with a midfield (they had departed by now),we may of actually kept hold of the ball for more that 10 seconds instead of giving it back to Celtic to attack again.
The conclusion is the manger has no idea of what side to play from his squad still (where was Glover?) and despite getting a a lucky undeserved draw the problems he is creating need to sorted out. Not one player had a bad game but they were limited in how to play by the formation and team the manager picked.
What is the deal with our "greatest ever signing" being kept on the bench.
Give Joachim a fucking chance to do his stuff.
