Well done Amanda on putting your money ( i can dream of having such amounts, let alone spare) where your support is and getting drawn out as the winner of the shirt sponsor.
Having Just the word "Amanda" on the shirts would of been most amusing as pointed out by the Stalybridge website creator. What a win win situation for the club . All of the entrance money plus a donation to help with refurbishing the kitchen! Does it need doing? Keeping in contact with some of the volunteers that helped for free at the end of last season with the cost of a phone call would of been a good start .Perhaps some of the money should go towards phone bills and public/volunteer relations.Best hope the club don't need them this season as a swift No with a knowing smile is in order.
The company that bought the winning ticket from Amanda have a bargain as well, it does smell a little set up though. Could i be as bold as to suggest that a contingency plan was already on standby if an individual won, I won't suggest anything else in case the Lincolnshire boys get upset and want to shake me down, Ha!Ha!
What would i have done if i had won. a charity would off got their name on the shirt a la Aston Villa and Barcelona. The publicity would be priceless.

I have the pleasure of seeing her tonight at Norwich Arts Centre with 200 others instead of the typical thousands that she normally performs to theses days.
A coup for the Arts Centre which is the best venue in the world.

Poor Poor Norfolk's second side
That 5/1 bet offered on relegation looks even more appealing after the display against a Spurs side with several players already sold , one striker on his way tomorrow and another on his way sat in the stands. They were ripped apart by a side that are still 3 weeks away from competitive football. dear, dear , dear... Never mind hey !
The positive spin is the lad went and was singing along with the Spurs about his dislike for the Woolwich and also standing up to show his dislike for the Woolwich... At last he is a football fan even if he does support the White Hart Lane mob.
King's Lynn FC is just a skip and a jump away in the natural cycle of support.

Another day of sun so a joke is deserved
No Kicking The Animals!
A little farm boy was walking to the school bus one morning when he began kicking farm animals. First he kicked a pig. Then he kicked a chicken. Lastly he kicked a cow.
His mother, watching from the kitchen window decided she would handle the situation after he returned from school. When he comes home from school, his mother confronts him and says "I seen you this morning kicking those farm animals. since you kicked a pig you get no pork products for a week. Since you kicked a chicken you get no eggs for a week. Since you kicked a cow, you get no beef products for a week. Now go wait for your father and tell him what you have done. "
The young boy goes and waits for his father. When his father comes home from a long day of work he is so mad he kicks the cat across the front yard. The boy looks to his mother and says "You wanna tell him no pussy or do you want me to?"

Stamford Friendly
Good things
We played the ball on the ground and at times played some pretty penetrative football.
It was not an overall very friendly game in very testing conditions.
The lad on trial had very little to do but many good things came from down the right hand side
John Turner is looking good as are the midfield pairing of Sedgemore and Bridgewater
We still look two weeks away from being ready which in my view is good.
Jack is looking fit
Bad things
Defensively we look at sea at times but Rhino! is part of the above comment about being two weeks away as is JJ and JF.
The amount of time it takes to get to Stamford when it is only a round trip of 80 miles for me
Conclusion
We have a very strong Squad
The game was poor but at least Stamford is a very pretty town despite the run down ground (& it use to be worse).
Very friendly people in the ground but there were very few Kings Lynn to wind them up as we normally do.
It was Very Very Very Hot for the balding fans amongst us.

The Brownies
Were excellent at Norwich Arts Centre last night. They played a storming set full of energy and power that packed a real punch in a very hot crypt. As i have said on my facebook and in conversation if the band were from The smoke or Manchester they would be on the cover off the now commercially sad but is there an alternative magazine NME.My compatriot for the evening said they have got better every time he has seen them, lets hope the progression happens slowly and that the big name producer they have for the LP does not smooth over the rawness.I am looking forward to the long player big time .I also hear news of a Norwich band feud between Violet Violet & the Brownies with the Kabeedies tagged on for good measure.Lets get a band play off with a battle to the very end to determine the victors.
I loved the main support act Fuck Dress who mashed together a huge range of influences to create an aural assault that provided a great trip back to the best alternative 80's sound.
The other support bands were Platform 1 who were to be truthful ,awful with the onstage charisma of a squashed daddy long legs and I only caught the last two songs of an Elastica influenced first band Comic Book Heroes but I have added them to the list to catch again.
Norwich just seems to be oozing with great music at the minute with a free event at Waterloo Park on Sunday hopefully next on my list after a sponsored bike ride in the morning.
I have posted the Brownies video before but as it is possibly the best song of the last twelve months it just has to be aired again and again.

Girls Aloud at Newmarket Nights
I will start by saying I am no fan of the Girls and can never remember any of their hits but last night they were very impressive. When they came on I expected to just tolerate and ogle but by the end I was still ogling like any self respecting nearly 40 year old man and really enjoying the whole show. They played 16 songs, had one costume change and seemed to enjoy what they were doing with many smiles, waves and even a bit of chat(even the notoriously miserable Nicola joined in,looking very lush with a seventies Marilyn Chambers hair cut). One highlight was the cover version of Push it!(salt and pepa) which was excellent in all so many ways.
They even knew where they were playing!
If they read all of the slagging (all correct so I am told) they they got after the forty pound a ticket Holkham Hall debacle last year then last night was a great answer
Last night's cost was only £12 a ticket with disabled free and a good nights horse racing thrown in.The weather smiled with the rain staying away for the music and only a few short drizzles during the racing.Traffic wise,it only took 40 minutes to clear the car park and get to the Rowley mile before I could short cut through the town home
All in all an unexpected terrific night out with an extra Ten English pounds in my pocket to boot.
Newmarket Nights, well worth the effort with Boyzone (!!) and Madness to come for me later in the summer

A Brief comment
Well true to my word i have boycotted the friendlies over the excessive price to non season ticket holders and i have to say The F-word tonight was an excellent alternative.
I have been a right ratty bastard all day today though.Nothing has gone badly wrong and i have checked to see if i am pre menstrual but after doing all of those jobs that keep getting put to the bottom of the list i have come to a conclusion it is partly down to not going to the friendlies amongst the getting told to turn the music down and not being able to go outside for any real amount of time until after 3.45 pm because well i won't go there.
& another thing if one more do-gooder tells me that the cost of food has gone up and then continues on explaining how i can save a few pennies i will personally abuse them from where i am standing as i have done about three times daily for the last week.

Another Monday Laugh
Beer vs. Vagina
1. Beer is always wet. Vagina needs a little work.
One point to BEER
2. Warm beer tastes awful.
One point to VAGINA
3. A really cold beer is satisfying.
One point to BEER
4. If after taking a swig of your favorite beer you find a hair between your teeth, you may vomit.
One point to VAGINA
5. If you get home reeking of beer your wife may get mad, make a scene, kick you out, etc. If you get home reeking of vagina your wife may get mad, kick you out, even leave you. There's definitely a point to be had here, depending on your point of view and personal circumstances.
I'll just call it a DRAW for the time being.
6. Ten beers in one night and you can't drive home. Ten vaginas in one night and you don't want to drive anywhere.
One point to VAGINA
7. If you have a lot of beer in a public place, your reputation may suffer. If you eat any vagina in public, you become a legend.
One point to VAGINA
8. If a cop stops you and you smell of beer you may get arrested. If you smell of vagina he may buy you a beer.
One point to VAGINA
9. You normally don't find old beer.
One point to BEER
10. Too much beer and you'll think you see flying saucers. Too much vagina and you'll think you've seen God.
One point to VAGINA
11. Ripping off a beer bottle label is boring. Ripping off panties is
fun. One point to VAGINA
12. In most countries there's a tax on beer.
One point to VAGINA
13. If you have another beer the first one never gets pissed off. One point to BEER
14. You can always be sure if you're the first one to open a bottle or a can.
One point to BEER
15. If you shake beer it'll get all agitated but eventually it settles down.
One point to BEER
16. With beer you always have choice: clear, dark, pilsner, ale, lager, etc
One point to BEER
17. You always know how much beer is going to cost
One point to BEER
18. Beer doesn't have a mother
One point to BEER
19. Beer never expects to be hugged for half an hour after you
drink it
One point to BEER
20. Tapping a Keg... easy. Tapping a Vagina... may take you weeks.
One Point to BEER
Final Score 11 BEER/ 8 VAGINA
That's it! The matter is settled, the clear winner is: BEER
PS: If you are a woman and at this point feel angry, degraded or discriminated against, just remember that Beer would experience none of those feelings, let alone express them, an extra point for BEER

A Monday Laugh
A woman was unhappy with the way her laundry was done at the local Chinese laundry, so she wrote a note and put it in the bag with the next collection of soiled clothes: 'USE MORE SOAP ON PANTIES!'
She got the clean laundry back, and was still dissatisfied with the results, so the following week she enclosed another note: 'USE MORE SOAP ON PANTIES!'
The Chinese laundry man became very annoyed, and when her clean laundry was delivered, it contained a note from HIM: 'I USE PLENTY SOAP ON PANTY!!! YOU USE MORE PAPER ON ASS!!'

A few more thoughts
Tomorrow sees the visit of the only real side in Cambridge, the others are just a non entity and a village side punching above their weight , they will fall and laugh we will.As said else where as a one man protest i will not be there, although i have free entry via my season ticket, nine pounds is far too much for a dressed up training session.Instead i am off to the capital for a few beers and company before the real season starts.I would love to see the breakdown of support at the game with the season ticket holders, away fans and paying fans all separated!
I read that Ronaldo thinks he is a slave as well. Twat! he really is , perhaps someone should get him to watch Roots or Amistad then visit a east European brothel on the way home to see what a slave is.Let him rot in the reserves for the rest of his contract.

A few thoughts
Sepp Blatter ? Just how many blue pills a night does this man take? Ronaldo a slave? What complete and utter I love Real Madrid bullshit. How pissed is he that English clubs are doing so well (shame about the national side but Mclaren is now dust so we may reach another semi final again)
A slave on six figures a week? This is the man who was once labelled as a man who had 50 ideas a night, 51 of them bad.( source- the Times) & now yet again he is appearing as an advert for dementia.
Mind you i agreed with the tighter shorts for women footballers one!
In the cricket world after showing some balls with making decisions overnight about the Peitersen sweep and lunch break times in wet weather the English cricket bosses have totally made fools of themselves by not simply throwing Yorkshire out of the competition for playing an unregistered overseas player and either making Durham play against Notts or awarding Durham a walkover.
What a farce.. sort it out and the bloody weather while you are there as well.
Friendlies ..umm when will people accept them for what they are, glorified training sessions. It matters not about results and certainly shouldn't cost more than £5 at our level.

Blown away, that's how the Reggae for the people tour left me feeling last night in fact i was still putting myself together as i passed the Dance Island event near Ely.. big fish little fish ... rave rave .
The muscles in my legs that need to be reactivated soon ready for the 26 miles next April are telling me that they are still there this morning.. good news.
The Pietasters were very good although the vocal could of done with more volume if was feeling picky. The lead singer looked like Brian Conley on Acid but in a good way, Great Performance.
The Slackers were Amazing , no other word can describe them.
Pama International started slowly but the set just got better and better climaxing with a stage invasion for the encore "Message to you Rudy" I could pick out Lynval Golding as the star but that would be unfair as the rest of the band are superb.Sean Flowerdrew looked like a thunderbird on keys directing the rest of the band but in a good way. Smile more Sean.
A hat off to Mungos hi fi for the dj sets between bands as well.

£9 ! Your taking the Urine
Nine English pounds for a friendly against sides that are not even of the equivalent of an old style 4Th divison side (Norfolk's second club will send a mixture of youth and reserves).
This is a wrong decision
See sense at board level and make it all pay set at £5 and £2 (concessions)
If you think i am alone in thinking the above you are wrong also ,i have already spoke to 10 people by various means this afternoon and none of them are now attending the friendlies.

Lifestyles Festival Hunstanton
I never got to see the first two bands but The New Town Kings were excellent in front of a sparse crowd. The new songs sound great and i am looking forward to the new LP already. I really do need to replace the old one as its scratched to pieces.
Check them out at myspace (google it)
The main act were Billy No Mates featuring Kings Lynn finest Mr Pitcher(vanilla pod) and Mr Devenish ( Rebelation) helping out on keys.A slab of fine punk it was although i will admit to leaving early.
The ramps looked superb and a trip back to the coast daytime tomorrow may happen.
Tomorrow night sees the south coast band "Ettin" who are mighty fine and the new LP out on "Do the Dog" records is pretty good as well. They are followed by Kings Lynn's Finest "Rebelation" If you get a chance to go and the lure of Toyah at the Kings Lynn festival is overcome,DO,You will not be disappointed.

Sunshine,Joachim and the fixtures now out early and due tomorrow, it's been a good day all round.
I was going to speculate on who and when i wanted to play certain sides but i will just enjoy and moan at them tomorrow.
Did you see Andy Murray yesterday, What a joy to watch . Superb stuff now lets overturn the odds and do the same to the much tougher Nadal.
Well done the Spain and the game of the football. For a beautiful change the best side won an international event with lovely flowing football.Let that be a lesson to all clubs and sides around the country, get the ball down and use it instead of all this long ball hit and run shit that still seems to populate our game.
